The Wooden Shoe Project 2026

The Wooden Shoe project is a community-wide participatory project partially sponsored by the Iowa Department of Economic Development. OC Arts will provide 85 Dutch wooden shoes, which will be decorated by locals and professional artists, and displayed in downtown Orange City during the Tulip Festival! Following the festival, the piece will have a permanent place in the Dutch Heritage Museum. This is a great opportunity for the community to celebrate Dutch Heritage while also celebrating our diversity, uniqueness, and talent of our artists.

By donating, you will help us meet the matching requirements of the grant. Your donations directly support the costs of purchasing shoes, providing supplies, building the final structure, and compensating our professional artists!
