 PT Administrative Assistant

The Orange City Arts Council seeks a dependable Administrative Assistant at our non-profit organization located in Orange City, IA. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in our community and foster the arts in NWIowa. This position is part-time, Monday to Friday, approximately 25-30 hours per week, including event attendance. Must have an interest in the arts and community activities. Permanent, year-round position. Salary: starting $15/hr

This position provides administrative support to the Director: 

  • Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and other correspondence.
  • Assists in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other documents.
  • Assists the Director with all aspects of event planning and execution; requires most event attendance.
  • Database entry
  • Assists with marketing management of promotional materials such as programs, posters, social media posts, ads etc.
  • Assist with the management of temporary employees and volunteers.

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent
1+ years of relevant experience preferred as an office/administrative assistant, event coordinator, or similar. 

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks.
  • Adaptability/flexibility.
  • Effective in all aspects of communication.
  • Ability to work effectively with the public and large groups of people.
  • Proactive approach to solving problems.
  • Strong office skills; experience in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
  • Social media marketing and experience with Canva a plus.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
