Discover the vibrant and expressive world of pastels in this two-day Intro to Pastels class led by artist Carol Jo Smidt. The class will take place March 6 & 7, from Noon–4:00 PM at the Orange City City Hall Community Room. Participants will explore pastel techniques, color blending, and composition in a supportive, hands-on learning environment. The cost is $100 per person. Participants will use the supplies provided during the class, but are welcome to bring their own pastel materials if they would like guidance or instruction on how to use them. This class is ideal for adult beginners or anyone curious about working with pastels and expanding their artistic practice.

Join us this March and April to explore the exquisite beauty of oil painting in this multi-week class led by local artist Chadd Caldwell! The class will take place on March 12 and 26, and April 9 and 23. It will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM at Chadd’s studio (430 Central Ave SW). Participants will get the opportunity to discover one of the most famous and iconic painting mediums in history! The cost is $150 per person. Supplies will be provided for the students during the class. This class is a great fit for beginners who want to try their hand at the vibrancy and versatility of oil painting!

Interested in pottery? If so, join us on Saturday, March 21st from 9-11AM and create your own functional mug out of clay! The class will be led by Northwestern College’s Amy Williams! This workshop will introduce you to the beginning methods of hand building with slabs, but those with clay experience will also enjoy the opportunity. There will be options for decorating the surface of your mug as well! All materials, firing, and glazing are included in the workshop fee. Admission cost is $25/person. Kids are welcome to pay/participate but should be accompanied by a paying adult. Space is limited!

Interested in Pottery? Do you like Charcuterie? What if we combined both of them?! If that sounds interesting to you, then come join us on April 11th at 9:00 AM at the Korver Visual Arts Center (214 8th St. SE.). At this workshop, you’ll be learning how to make your own charcuterie plate under the leadership of Northwestern College’s Amy Williams. While learning how to create unique forms with clay, you’ll be making a one-of-a-kind plate for you and your guests to enjoy! Admission fees are $25. Kids under 10 are welcome to pay/participate, but should be accompanied by a paying adult. All materials, firing, and glazing are included in the workshop fee. All materials will be provided! Come join us for a unique opportunity to learn about the foundations of pottery!
