Artists Awarded in Regional Art Show

The Orange City Arts Council awarded three regional artists for their outstanding work in the 2022 Regional Art Show at the closing reception held on April 30 at the NWC DeWitt Theater Arts Center. The juried show featured 25 works of art by artists from Iowa, South Dakota, and Minnesota. April Benson of Orange City the Best in Show award for her oil painting titled ‘Grocery Store Carnation.’ The first Honorable Mention went to Jerry Deuschle of Luverne, MN, for his ceramic sculpture titled ‘Under Sea 2’. The second Honorable Mention was awarded to Melissa Van Egdom of Hull, Iowa, for her watercolor painting on rice paper titled ‘Warm Autumn Pastures.’ Jurors for the show are Northwestern College Art department chair Phil Scorza and staff member Meghan Flynn.

The show was sponsored by Orange City Arts along with the Northwestern College theater and art departments.
