
2023 Regional Art Exhibition: Primary Colors
About the Show
The 2023 Regional Art Exhibition: Primary Colors will be held June 5 - 21 at the downtown Stadscentrum building to correlate with the start of our summer OnStage Program. The juror for this year's show is local artist Rein Vanderhill. Awards will be given for 'Best in Show' ($150) and 'Honorable Mention' ($75). JUROR
Rein Vanderhill, local professional artist and Professor Emeritus of Art at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa.
THEME OF EXHIBITION
This year's theme is ‘Primary Colors’; artists will submit artwork in which at least one of the primary colors (red, blue, yellow) is used as a main artistic element.
ELIGIBILITY & MEDIA
This exhibit is open to any artist, age 18 and up, from Iowa or within a 350-mile radius of Orange City, Iowa. Artwork must be original in concept, composition, and execution and have been created in the past three years. Artwork may not have been shown previously in an Orange City Arts exhibit. All 2-D and 3-D media will be considered and must be ready to hang/present. Sawtooth hangers are not allowed. If you have work that you feel needs not to be framed, please email Orange City Arts at info@orangecityarts.org to request approval.
ENTRY PROCEDURES
There is no entry fee. Entrants are limited to three entries. Sets, e.g., diptych, may be classified as one entry. 2D entries may not exceed 38 in wide x 60 in high in size. 3D entries may not exceed 36 in wide x 36 in high. The sponsor reserves the right to make exceptions to accommodate the display space.
We request digital images only. Submissions for jurying must be quality jpg, gif, png or pdf images – 200 dpi and no larger than 4 MB.
**The exhibition will not display any selected piece that arrives at the venue without proper hanging hardware. Any submission that is considered by Orange City Arts, at its sole and absolute discretion, to be objectionable, in whole or in part, will be disqualified and will not be eligible for entry.**
