2023 Youth Art Showcase FAQ

The Orange City Arts Youth Art Showcase offers an opportunity for young artists to exhibit their work August 14 - 23, 2023, at the Stadscentrum Building in downtown Orange City IA. Local artists between the ages of 6 to 17 years old, residing within a 40-mile radius of Orange City, IA are invited to submit work to the juried exhibition. The exhibition will also be available to view online at orangecityarts.org.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: August 7, 2023, by midnight CST

VENUE: Stadscentrum Building, 201 Central Ave, Orange City, IA 51041(next to Crafts Central)

  • Eligible entrants must be age 6 -17 years and reside in Orange City, Iowa, or within a 40-mile radius of Orange City, Iowa. Parents, guardians or teachers may submit on behalf of the youth artist. 
  • Enter any art that can have a still digital image taken of it (painting, sculpture, drawing, collage, pottery etc.) 
  • Entrants are limited to TWO entries and must be done online. 
  • 2D entries may not exceed 38 in wide x 60 in high in size. 3D entries may not exceed 36 in wide x 36 in high. The sponsor reserves the right to make exceptions to accommodate the display space. 
  • Artwork must be original and created by the artist. Copyrighted material such as Disney, Pixar, celebrity pictures, coloring pages, etc. will not be accepted. 
  • Submit digital images only for jurying purposes. 
  • Submit images online via the online submission page. DO NOT MAIL forms or original artwork to Orange City Arts. 
  • Submissions must be quality jpg, gif, png or pdf images – 200 dpi and no larger than 4 MB. 
  • The image must be a true representation of the work submitted. Orange City Arts reserve the right to reject work accepted which does not conform to the quality represented by the submission. 
  • The exhibition will not display any selected piece that arrives at the venue without proper hanging hardware. 
  • Any submission that is considered by Orange City Arts, at its sole and absolute discretion, to be objectionable, in whole or in part, will be disqualified and will not be eligible for entry. 
  • Do Not Mail or Drop Off entry forms or artwork to the Orange City Arts office.

  • Terms & Conditions must be agreed by checking the 'I Agree' box to participate in the show. 
  • Artists may not substitute or remove artwork accepted into the show prior to the show closing. 
  • This is a juried show. Not all artwork will be accepted into the showcase.
  • Prizes for Best in Show and Honorable Mention will be awarded in each age category. Age categories are Ages 6-9, Ages 10-14, Ages 15-17. The awards announcement will be on Aug 23 at 6 pm at Stadscentrum during Arts on Central.
  • Acceptance notification will be sent by August 9 via email.
  • All accepted artwork must be delivered for display by August 12 to be considered for a prize.
